Granulation is an ancient decorative process in which a metal object is ornamented by the application of many tiny beads (Granules) The stunning quality of proper granulation is achieved by having granules adhered to the surface by an almost imperceptible bond at the tangent point. When the appropriate heat is reached, the metals form an allow of a lower melting point than the metals being joined. This alloy flows creating a strong bond. This ancient process uses a delicate solderless bonding to attach small pieces such as granules to the surface.
